WAXMAN ENDORSED BY HALF OF PORTLAND’S LEGISLATIVE DELEGATION

October 24, 2008

PORTLAND — On Thursday, October 23, Portland City Council Candidate Dory Waxman announced that she has been endorsed by three of Portland’s eight State Representatives and by both of Portland’s State Senators.

The Representatives included Boyd Marley (District 114), Anne Haskell (District 117), Anne Rand (District 120). Senators Ethan Strimling and Joe Brannigan also endorsed Waxman.

“It means so much to have the support of people who represent all parts of the City,” said Waxman. Waxman and her opponent Mayor Ed Suslovic are both Democrats, but of the ten Democrats representing the City in the Legislature, only one appears to be endorsing Suslovic.

Waxman is running against Mayor Ed Suslovic for an At Large seat, and intends to represent Portland with a strong emphasis on shoring up the city's economic viability while building consensus both on the Council and in the community.
